Who they are Formed in late '86, Opposition Party, was a "punk as fuck" group playing basic punk rock. Early influences were hardcore/punk bands like GBH, Broken Bones, Chaos UK, Exploited, English Dog, Oi Polloi, etc.

Although the early years saw them leaning towards the hardcore side of punk, their dynamics took a more metallic edge as the 80's came to a close. They started playing faster, heavier and louder (not that they were not loud before) in the 90's, their blend of speed-metal and hardcore punk finally saw them emerged as one of Singapore's premier outfits.

Through the years, the band has settled down with the present line-up with more extensive influences ranging from classical to death.

Many have tried to label the band's music as punk, thrash, metal, hardcore, etc. but that will be the least of their concerns. Opposition Party always understand where they come from and never abandon their roots.

The band gigs regularly in Singapore and Malaysia and have been featured in regional and intentional releases, articles and interviews. They have also appeared on local and foreign TV and radio programmes.
