What is "Project: ULTRAMAN"?

1) a sequel to RadioHead's "Paranoid Android".
2) a new line of apparels resembling Power Ranger costumes.
3) the cool future of promoting our thriving music scene.

The answer is of course, 3. Read on and you'll discover why...

The term "Enhanced CD" is nothing new, especially if you've got yourself that Romeo & Juliet Soundtrack CD or any of the many music CDs under the Sony label (just look for that Enhanced CD logo). Basically the magic of an Enhanced CD works when you take that CD out of your regular Hi-Fi and into your multimedia personal computer. What happens next is you'll get to explore an interactive multimedia environment featuring cool stuff about the CD's music artistes. This gives us extra value, added entertainment and even more interesting information on the artistes behind the album. Such would certain help in promoting the band further, especially if the act is a new one.

BigO Singles Club No. 4

Project: ULTRAMAN (it's a codename!) follows in this new tradition, and with the combined efforts of BigO and Substitute, the aim is to promote the local music industry into new heights. The BigO Singles Club No. 4 is the beginning of probable series of Enhanced CDs. Using cutting-edge multimedia technology of the AppleTM Macintosh, the Substitute Crew has been hard at work taking pictures, videos, music and fusing these elements together for an engaging interactive experience. The end result is an interesting atmosphere for discovering our local musicians, their influences and aspirations.

BigO Singles Club No. 4

The BigO Singles Club No. 4 Enhanced CD features local bands such as "Crack Healer", "Camra", "Livonia" and includes a bonus track by Ben Harrison's band, "etc". The Enhanced CD is slated to be released with the December issue of BigO, in line with a celebration of gigs at various hot spots throughout town.

NOTE: Although much effort has been put into this production, there are still some technical flaws with the Enhanced CD. At time of mastering, the CD was not produced under the "Enhanced CD" format, which means you'll have to "skip track 1" when you listen to it on your hi-fi system. For technophiles, track 1 of the CD is the data track which should not be read by your hi-fi. Under the Macintosh, the multimedia program works fine. However under Microsoft Windows 95, the videos don't work well and you'll probably need a 260Mhz Pentium processor computer to play it. Lastly, the interactive multimedia program was not fully optimized before the mastering, so you'll have to wait a little for the stuff to really run. We hope to correct these problems soon.
